Public beach Zell am See

The first rays of sunshine that shine on Lake Zell are yours to grab at the Strandbad Zell am See. On the western shore of Lake Zell, the lido is less than 200 meters from the center of the old town. Of the 4 lido pools, it is probably the most popular address around the Zeller See. With facilities including a water slide, 1, 3 & 5 meter diving towers, an adults/kids pool, a baby pool, water sports at Edi’s water ski school, a water island, a trampoline in the lake & an 18-hole mini golf course right next door, there is entertainment for everyone. Culinary delights are provided by the beach club.

With unobstructed views of the Schmittenhöhe and the Kitzsteinhorn glacier, the lido in Thumersbach offers arguably the most beautiful panorama – especially with the infinity pool almost adjacent to the lake. It offers a great entertainment program for the youth, with a 1-meter diving board, a water trampoline & a water ski school. Pedal boats as well as Stand UP Paddles can also be rented at the lido. Culinary delights are served in the Beachchlub Thumersbach in a dreamlike atmosphere directly at the lake.

Free bathing places

In addition to our 4 public beaches in Zell am See, there are also numerous free bathing places.

House Gabi

A park-like swimming area located on the southeastern shore of the Zeller See with an adjacent dog meadow. In summer with windy conditions, Haus Gabi is the hotspot of the kitesurfing scene as the lake is accessed by a long, low water depth. On site is a restaurant, 2 free volleyball courts & 1 table tennis table. SUP’s & pedal boats can also be rented.

Admission and parking are free of charge.

Park Thumersbach

Right next to the Thumersbach lido is the park. Beautiful old trees serve as shade on hot summer days. Right next to the boat landing is a small bay where you can get in and out of the water. Culinary delights are provided by the Beachclub Thumersbach, just like at the public beach. Free parking is available.

Yacht Club Zell am See

The yacht club on the north shore of Lake Zell is also a great option for a free jump into the cool water. There is free parking directly at the yacht club, which can be used by swimmers. On site, there is a small restaurant right by the yacht club.

Bathing place Wieshof

Not far from the yacht club is the Wieshof bathing area on the north shore of the Zeller See. Designated free parking is not available so on fair weather days most bathers park along the main road on the side. A volleyball court, a small children’s playground and sanitary facilities are on site. Those who have not packed enough snacks can eat at the Gasthof Wieshof.
